Lisa Peterson, MAPC, LISAC
Substance Abuse Counselor
Qualifications and Experience
Hi, my name is Lisa Peterson and I am a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC-10191). I received my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling (MAPC) and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ottawa University and Associates of Arts in Chemical Dependency from Rio Solado College. I am trained in EMDR, which is a cutting edge form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma, which is often the underlying cause of many addictions. I would love to support you on your journey.
Who I Work With
I only specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with substance addiction. It is an honor to sit with clients and help them process and heal. It is so much easier to stay clean and sober and let go of any compulsive behavior when you have released your trauma. There are big traumas and little traumas. No matter how big or small, you do not want your past holding you back in your life and relationships. You deserve the best life you can imagine.
I am a very compassionate, spiritual and intuitive human being. I developed this intuition through my own life experiences and processing my own pain. I am not asking you to do anything I have not done myself. I would love to meet with you.
EMDR is a very gentle process that goes beyond talk therapy to help you process your trauma. There is nothing to be scared of during the process—you are the one in charge. Its your own brain doing the work. I have had great results and feedback with EMDR.
